Visiting Dolcino Nottingham 

Last weekend we sent Charlotte to celebrate the opening of Nottingham's newest Ice Cream Parlour for some Italian Gelato at Dolcino.

First walking into Dolcino you immediately notice the large array of ice cream in all different colours: there’s Mars Bar Magic, Black Forest Gateaux and Toffee Popcorn to name just a few. It took us over 5 minutes to actually decide what flavours we were going to go for, but thankfully a friendly member of staff came to the rescue. She provided tasters of any we were intrigued by before we finally settled on pistachio and banana – both with generous servings of course.

Climbing any mountain is a challenge. It takes some hard work and planning to scale a peak although some of that preparation work can be taken care of when climbing up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales as there is a fantastic cafe located right near the top of the hill which rises to 1085 metres above sea level (3560 feet) alongside the impressive station which visitors can use to take the easy way to the top.

We certainly didn't take the easy way up Snowdon on the train and really earned our break on reaching the summit having climbed up from the Snowdon Ranger station on what is a 13km hard walk up to the summit and bank down to the start point at Snowdon Ranger Youth Hostel beside Lyn Cwellyn.

There are a number of well known pathways up Snowdon. Due to their distance they're pretty much all classed as hard mountain walks and shouldn't be started without a level of fitness which will allow a walker to reach the top. Most walks take around 6 hours in total and therefore make for a long day of hiking

How to best start a day in Nottingham shopping

Nottingham is a fantastic city for shopping, whether you want to hit the main department stores in Victoria Centre or the Old Market Square, the major chains of Clumber Street or hitting the designer shopping area around Bridlesmith Gate there's no better way of starting a day's worth of shopping than breakfast and coffee.

My personal favourite is Cafe Nero on Bridlesmith Gate. There's a nice atmosphere in there and the barista's are really friendly unlike those usually found in Costa and Starbucks. Cafe Nero on Bridlesmith gate also serves the best Italian Double Espresso in Nottingham in my opinion.
